Everybody needs a hand organising their life or finding ways to make it a little less stressful. Whether it be trying to find a spare 10 minutes to relax or finding something to take your mind off of work, here are a few cool and useful Apps that might give you a hand
If you’re new to meditation but want to reap its rewards, Headspace is a great app to get started. For free, you have access to the app’s Take10 program designed for beginners. For 10 minutes a day for 10 days you’ll practice guided exercises and learn about meditation. The app can even access your calendar to help set aside meditation time in your busy day. If you want to continue using the app, you can sign up for a monthly or annual subscription to access other meditation exercises.
Without a good night’s sleep, you may become more irritable, where even the little things can get your anxiety going. Sleep Time is here to make sure you get a good night’s sleep and feel refreshed in the morning. A two-in-one app, Sleep Time doubles as an alarm clock and sleep analysis app.
Here’s a daily tool that’ll help you address stress and anxiety at a gradual pace. The folks who invented it based it on cognitive behavioural therapy combined with relaxation and wellness techniques.
The app itself is pretty low maintenance: The idea is to track your daily activities by writing or via audio. The app then helps you understand what activities might be triggering different moods and emotions, especially stress and anxiety. The goal here? To help you recognise what’s making you anxious or stressed so you can break the cycle. It also gives you goals to set and emotional homework. And, unlike many of the self-help apps out there, it’s refreshingly non-fluffy.
When you’re feeling stressed, there’s nothing better than grabbing some paper and pencils to doodle. Although you may never become the next Da Vinci, it’s a soothing process and can help ease your mind. Recolor, which is free to download, brings this experience to the iPhone.
It’s a colouring book app and contains images such as mandalas and animals. What’s cool is that it’s been designed based on complexity, so you can start off easy and build your way up. Another great thing here is that all the colours are fresh and not overpowering, meaning you have a way to relax after a hectic day.
